What can I say about Baxter? We are so lucky to have such a sweet puppy join our family. Baxter has big brown eyes that just melts your heart. And, Mongo just LOVES his new puppy brother!

It all started by a simple text message from my friend telling me that Briggs Animal Adoption Center had Pugs for adoption. I immediately took a detour from shopping with another friend, and we headed down to Briggs.

We were given a tour through the kennels to see all of the dogs for adoption. It was love at first sight when I saw Baxter. He was in the kennel run with his Mom. In another kennel was Baxter’s Dad, and Baxter’s older brother was in another. I was so tempted to bring them all home. We were put into a room to do a one-on-one visit with Baxter. How could anyone resist this face?

The second visit, they had to meet Dave to see how Baxter would interacted with him. Baxter knew that this was the person he’d have to suck up to right away, and he knew exactly what he had to do. Yep… That’s right folks. Dave was trapped in Pug Love.

The last visit was bringing Mongo to meet Baxter at the adoption center. They got along, but it wasn’t Mongo’s normal playful self. It was not until they brought Baxter to our house that Mongo busted out in excited Pug playtime. They ran through the house and outside like crazy wild Pugs. Best buds from the start.

Baxter has an explosive personality, and he LOVES to give kisses. Baxter has been such a great addition to our family, and we love him SO MUCH!

Here are some of his favorite things:

• Playing and sleeping with Mongo
• Chasing Mongo around the house and yard (lightening speed chasing)
• Playing fetch with toys and balls
• Eating strawberries out of the garden
• Chewing bones
• Chasing birds
• Going for walks
• Running the neighbor’s fence to play with their dog
• Eating treats, baby carrots, green beans… eating EVERYTHING!
• And the list goes on…
